Yesterday the government confirmed in its key policy plans that the Vetting and Barring Scheme will be reviewed and scaled back.
The coalition agreement published on 20 May 2010 stated “We will review the criminal records and vetting and barring regime and scale it back to common sense levels” (p.20).
No further information is available at this stage, though for an up-to-date analysis read my post on Tuesday.
